Work Experience- Day One

On Monday the 7th of March, all Transition Year students headed out on Work Experience. I went to Scoil Naoimh Brid Primary School along with Karen, Alison and Lauren M. I was very nervous but excited at the same time. As we entered the school gates the nerves set in. We went up to reception were we met the Principal Mary Pierce, she made me feel very welcomed. She then told us what classes we were going to be put in with. I was with 1st class, Alison and Lauren were with senior infants and Karen was with Junior Infants.
At 9.20 when all the students were in class , Ms Pierce brought me to my class, i was welcomed with big smiles and even hugs. The teacher i was put with was very nice. I actually had her when i was in 4th class, so that made it easier to start conversation. First of all i had to cut out shapes using big letters , which was simple enough. When i had that finished i just done really simple things such as take blue-tac off the back of paintings and put the paintings away in the childrens folders.
For lunch we got to go to the staffroom and five minutes and when the teachers came we had to go. We went to the village which was handy because it is 2 minutes from the school. After little lunch i went to P.E with them , i just sat and watched how the class was being taught. I got off at 2 o'clock which was great :D i really enjoyed the first day
